Mr Lam joined the Insurance Authority as the Executive Director, General Business in June 2017. He is responsible for the supervision of the non-life insurance market. He brings with him over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, covering non-life, life, and reinsurance businesses. He has held leadership positions as Chief Executive Officer and Regional Chief Operating Officer for multinational insurers and reinsurers in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Vietnam and Thailand. Mr Lam has had wide business and operational exposure to, and extensive experience in, market development and startup operations, having set up and built greenfield operations in Mainland China and Vietnam.
