Steve Lau is a Division Head of the Enforcement and AML Department of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) tasked to investigate enforcement matters on banks and/or bank staff and, where appropriate, take enforcement actions under the relevant Ordinances over serious misconduct/fitness & properness issues. He is also responsible for handling complaints against banks on general banking, investment and insurance services. Prior to that, Steve has served in other Banking Departments including Banking Supervision, Banking Conduct and Banking Policy since joining the HKMA in 1994.
