Mr Franz Josef Hahn is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Peak Re, a global reinsurer based in Hong Kong. Under Mr Hahn’s leadership, Peak Re has grown from a start-up in 2012 to become a global company, with a footprint that reaches beyond Asia to Europe and Americas. The company’s premiums exceeded the US$1 billion mark within the first five years.

With over 30 years of reinsurance industry experience, Mr Hahn has successfully helped build and shape the reinsurance business in the Greater China and Asia Pacific region.

Prior to founding Peak Re, Mr Hahn has held leadership positions at major international reinsurers, spearheading their growth in the region.

Mr Hahn has been an active player in the Hong Kong insurance industry. Most recently, from 2016 to 2018, he was a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee to the Financial Secretary.

Before launching his reinsurance career, Mr Hahn was a lawyer. He has worked in Germany, France, Canada, Beijing and Hong Kong.
